Ripple Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Ripple, operated by Hunting Positivity LLC ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using Ripple you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Ripple.

1. Who can use Ripple

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use Ripple.

2. What Ripple is for

Ripple lets you send a short, kind, anonymous message to someone you know. It is for encouragement, gratitude, and appreciation.

3. Rules

You agree not to use Ripple to:

  • harass, bully, threaten, or demean anyone, including with messages that look kind but are meant as insults;
  • send sexual content, or content that encourages self-harm or violence;
  • share someone's personal information, or include phone numbers, email addresses, or links;
  • send messages to someone who has asked not to receive them;
  • send spam or use Ripple for advertising or any commercial purpose;
  • try to get around our safety checks, or interfere with or attack the service.

Messages are checked automatically before delivery, and we may refuse to send any message. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, without notice where the behavior is serious.

4. Anonymity

Ripples are anonymous to recipients, but they are not anonymous to us. We can link every Ripple to the account that sent it, and we may disclose that information where the law requires it or to protect someone's safety. Recipients may buy "clues" that hint at who sent a Ripple; hints are never a guarantee of identity. See our Privacy Policy for details.

5. Text messages (SMS program terms)

Ripple sends two kinds of text messages:

  • Verification codes to a number you enter when you sign in or add a phone number.
  • Ripple notifications to a person that a Ripple user has chosen to send a Ripple to. Each one is a single text containing a link to the message, for example: "Ripple: Someone you know sent you a kind message. [link] Reply STOP to opt out."

By entering your phone number in Ripple you agree to receive a verification code by text. When you send a Ripple, you confirm that you have a genuine, personal reason to contact the recipient and that you will not use Ripple to send unwanted messages.

  • Message frequency: one text per Ripple sent to you, and one code per sign-in request. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
  • Cost: message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier plan.
  • Opting out: reply STOP to any Ripple text at any time to stop receiving them. You can also open the message link and choose "Stop receiving Ripples" to block a sender. Reply HELP for help, or email contact@huntingpositivity.com.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • We do not share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy.

6. Purchases

Some features (such as unlocking clues) can be bought through in-app purchases. Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms. A one-time unlock applies to one Ripple. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings, and cancelling does not refund the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple. Deleting your Ripple account does not cancel a subscription.

7. Your content

You are responsible for the messages you send. You keep ownership of them, and you give us permission to store, review, and deliver them as needed to run Ripple. Ripples are automatically deleted 60 days after they are sent.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. We can also suspend or end accounts that break these terms.

9. Disclaimers

Ripple is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that messages will always be delivered or that the service will always be available or error-free. Ripple is not an emergency service; if you or someone you know is in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.

10. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hunting Positivity LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Ripple, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing).

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are material we'll update the effective date and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Ripple after a change means you accept it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
