Our Story
Two kids, two hospitals, and one camp that changed everything.
Hunting Positivity started with two kids who spent more time in hospitals than most people do in a lifetime.
Hunter, our founder, was 19 months old when he was diagnosed with cancer. He's 22 now, and he still goes in for chemo. Nate, our cofounder, spent his childhood in and out of treatment for a sunken chest condition. Neither of us chose those years. But they taught us something most people don't learn until much later, if ever: some things are genuinely out of your hands, and you get to choose what you do with the rest.
Two years ago, we became camp counselors at a camp for underprivileged youth. We weren't there to teach anyone about hardship — those kids already knew plenty about that. But we watched something we didn't expect: the kids who held onto a little bit of positivity, even in rough circumstances, seemed to carry themselves differently. Lighter. More themselves. It wasn't magic. It was a choice they kept making, one day at a time — and it worked.
Hunter, being a camp counselor — unicorn hood and all.
Nate, helping a camper reel in his catch.
That's when it clicked. If positivity could do that for a kid who had every reason not to feel it, it could do it for anyone. Including us. Including you.
So we started Hunting Positivity — not as a slogan, but as a practice. Positivity isn't something you find once and keep. It's something you go looking for, especially on the hard days. That's the whole idea behind the name, and behind everything we make: a small, wearable reminder to keep hunting for the good, even when — especially when — it doesn't come easy.
We don't have it all figured out. Hunter's still in treatment. We're both still learning. But we know this much is true: positivity looks good on you, and it looks even better shared.
Welcome to the hunt.
